PointClickCare Empowers Its Senior Living Customers for Long-Term Success

Denver, CO – May 10, 2016 PointClickCare, the leading cloud-based software platform for the senior care continuum, understands the unique needs of its senior living customers and continuously evolves its industry-leading platform to cover the full spectrum of senior care. Over the next three days, PointClickCare team members will be at the Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference in Denver, Colorado (booth #715) to demonstrate how its senior living offering can help position care providers for long-term success.

“The senior care industry is in a period of transition, faced with new challenges and new opportunities affecting providers in all areas of their business,” says Travis Palmquist, vice president and general manager, Senior Living at PointClickCare. “What providers aren’t realizing is that technology is really the underpinning to success, and with the right tools in place, technology can be a differentiator.”

According to a recent survey sponsored by PointClickCare, 184 senior living providers cited staff continuity, staff recruitment, and staff retention as the top areas of concern for their business.

“These findings are not surprising as we are seeing a looming shortage of positions, as well as high turnover in the senior care industry,” adds Palmquist. “Historically, the industry has been well behind the curve with respect to adopting technology, but technology can help fuel service transformation in simple ways – starting with staff.”

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, millennials will comprise 75 percent of the American workforce by 2030. Attracting this demographic will be a critical component for senior care providers to address the needs of this growing cohort of residents. Implementing an electronic health record (EHR) – as opposed to maintaining outdated, paper-based documentation workflows — excites millennials, who are known for being difficult to attract to the industry, and even harder to retain.

Technology has the ability to help care providers work smarter and more efficiently, which in turn is helping organizations ensure success across the entire business, and Thrive Senior Living is no exception. Thrive recognizes the importance of technology and has recently chosen PointClickCare as its technology partner. With the right platform and tools in place across its communities, Thrive, along with a growing number of senior living providers, are leveraging the PointClickCare platform to help them remain focused on what’s important – the health of its residents and its business.
